7.30am-6.30pm Centre Hours $89 per day The Nursery The nursery caters for children between the ages of six months and two years. We have a maximum of 14 children cared for by four staff members. The Program At Little Paddington, we believe in individual growth. In the Nursery, our program is planned to meet the needs of the individual. Our program is based on age appropriate objectives, which are then implemented on a fortnightly plan, which is displayed on the nursery wall. The qualified staff member in the room develops programs to cater for the needs of the children. All staff monitor the children’s development and provide any necessary feedback. The plan is implemented through five developmental areas-: Gross Motor– We plan to develop the child’s gross motor skills and confidence in providing activities which require balance and control. Fine Motor– We plan to develop the child’s eye-hand coordination which enables them to manipulate a variety of equipment and provide independence for a variety of equipment and provide independence for a variety of self-help skills. Language– We plan to develop the child’s ability to realise the importance of language as a tool for communication. Social/Emotional– We plan to develop the child’s ability to cope with everyday problems and frustrations by assisting the child in the development of inner controls and self discipline. Cognitive– We plan to develop problem solving techniques through active manipulation of objects and materials. Dietary Requirements We provide all meals for the children from breakfast through to supper. For the younger babies we provide rice cereal, pureed fruit and vegetables. As they get older they will be offered the meals on the centre’s menu which is displayed in the room. If your child has any specific dietary requirements, we will try and cater to these to the best of our ability. Communication
Each child will receive a ‘My Day’ sheet outlining what they did for the day. This will be placed in their bag. It will outline what your child has eaten, slept, nappy changes and a personal comment on their day. There is also a white board in the room which follows each child’s routine for the day. The staff are also available to talk to both at pick up and drop off and via phone at anytime throughout the day. Music Music is a very important part of the program at Little Paddington. Once a week a specialist teacher attends the centre and takes each group for a music session. The children are entranced as they explore the magic of sound, rhythm and movement and introduces them to musical instruments and a wide variety of songs. This program is followed up throughout the week. |
